A Nunchuck costs $20 (one is bundled with the system). Each wii remote costs $40(One is bundled with the system). You are going to need rechargable batteries.
Also, controllers can be a bit expensive. The internal memory in the Wii is limited, although downloaded games can be redownloaded onto the same console for later use or back them up on an SD card(SDHC is not supported). To play gamecube games, you need a gamecube controller and a gamecube memory card to save data. There are some draw backs to this system. In addition, there is also some nice homebrew support, which supports games, emulators, media stuff(something a computer can still do) and utilities. Many which are better than a lot of retail games. Wiiware brings a lot of inexpensive downloadable games. Virtual console games allow you to play games from the past, rather faithful to the original. In addition, it has the virtual console games and Wiiware. It is backwards compatible with Gamecube games, and does it so well (thanks to the similar architecture). Wii- The Wii is my second favorite console to date. However, you will find it harder to sell games because it is very competitive, although that rule works in favor in reverse. It is backwards compatible with PS1 games. There are so many games on it that, some which I still want to play but have never picked up. Games are also becoming really cheap to buy and systems are inexpensive. Also, not all games are backwards compatible with the PS2 although it can play PS1 games. Although a computer can easily do everything they are talking about here. It really is important that you can fully utilize it as a Multimedia machine. Also, games require higher budgets for development, while they grind out really slowly. However, the games may not be consistent in the following years.
OKAMI PS2 VS PS3 PS3
2008 has treated the PS3 well this year making it a cleaner choice. Really comes down to personal preference. Playstation 2 - Gran Turismo 3: A Spec, Okami, Persona 3, Persona 4, ICO, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Tekken 5, God of War, God of War 2 Playstation 3 - LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Resistance 2, Valkyria Chronicles (future titles I'm excited for: Killzone 2 and Gran Turismo 5) Wii - No More Heroes, Okami, Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Which console gives the best value for money, and which console would be the best companion for my beloved 360? Since I included some numbers in the poll, I'll give some examples of games I'd want to get, but if you have any PS2 suggestions, please share them, because my knowledge of this console is not the best. So I'm asking you, my fellow Giant Bombers, which do you think is the right console for me. A current generation console, graphical comparisons to PS2 are minimal, and much more expensive than the PS2, but does offer a variety of quality titles (Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, No More Heroes, Okami.again) and originality, in that what it does is completely different to what my Xbox 360 does. Playstation 3 is also an option, and it's an excellent and durable console with awesome graphics and Blu-Ray functionality, but it's so expensive that I could probably get a PS2 and 10 games for the same price as a PS3 and just 3 or 4 games.
The Playstation 2 seems like a good option, considering how cheap it is and how many quality games are available for it (Okami, the Persona series, Gran Turismo etc.).
I'm thinking of buying an extra console to go along with my Xbox 360 and my PC, and am thinking about which is the best value. I fucked up making this poll, so allow me to elaborate.
